My grandfather (on left) boxing with a younger brother sometime during the the 1920s. Boxing was only a sport to them, both were lifelong pacifists. Two of the brothers were imprisoned during WWII for refusing to bear arms. My grandfather often expressed regret that because he was too old to be drafted, he did not join them in prison.
